No, this isn’t a recipe for making tomato paste from scratch. I’ve looked into that and it takes an insane amount of time and stirring.
This is an idea to save a little money and make some of your recipes a little easier.
There are a lot of recipes that call for a tablespoon or two of tomato paste. So you open a can, use what you need, and put the can in the fridge hoping you can use the rest of it in something else before it goes bad. Or, you can buy the fancy tomato paste in the tube, which is handy but really expensive. Or, you can try this . . .
