Ingredients
- 1# of meat cut into bite size pieces – Beef Steak, Pork Shoulder Steak, Boneless Pork Ribs, Chicken Breasts or Boneless Chicken Thighs all work well
- Teriyaki Marinade – you can buy this or make your own
- Vegetables such as onion, green pepper, mushrooms, tomatoes, etc
Instructions
- Cut the meat into bite size pieces and marinade in the teriyaki for at least 2 hours and preferably overnight.
- Cut the vegetables into bite size pieces and marinade in the teriyaki for at least 2 hours (veggies absorb marinade faster than meat).
- Prepare the rice to serve with the skewers – either plain white rice or a rice dish such as Rice-a-Roni.
- Put the meat on skewers, without the veggies (the meat will take longer to cook). Prepare one skewer per person. Put the skewers over a hot grill or fire for 8-10 minutes, flipping frequently to cook them evenly. Cook until they reach 150 degrees internal temperature, or until the pieces are firm.
- Put the veggies on skewers, alternating the different veggies for a variety of color. Prepare one skewer per person. Put the skewers over a hot grill or fire for 3-6 minutes, until firmly tender.
- When both the meat and the vegetables are done, dish up some rice on each plate and serve a skewer of pork and a skewer of veggies on each plate.
