Ok, I generally like to put more effort into a meal than this, but I have to admit that hot dogs over an open fire is still one of my favorite meals. We probably do this for Saturday night supper at least twice a month during the summer.
Other Options: Cheese slices, sauerkraut, bakes beans, etc
Fire pit, or grill
Instructions
If using a fire pit, start a fire 30 minutes ahead of cooking. You want to cook the hot dogs over coals, not flames.
If cooking on a grill, preheat on high for 10-15 minutes ahead of cooking.
Put the hot dogs over the fire or on the grill. Watch them closely and turn them frequently. Hot dogs are precooked and they heat through quickly, it’s just a matter of how dark you want the skins.
Put your hot dogs together with the condiments of your choice and enjoy!
