This Mongolian Beef dish can be prepared ahead of time and cooked while you are away. The flavor is authentic and this recipe will make enough for 6 people. We like to serve this on fried rice.

Ingredients
- 1½-2 pounds of Flank Steak or Flat Iron Steak
- ½ cup cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons Peanut Oil
- 2-4 cloves minced Garlic
- 1 bunch of green onions, sliced, whites & greens separated
- 1 cup Soy Sauce
- 1 cup Water
- 1 cup Brown Sugar
- 1 cup grated Carrots
- Sesame Oil
- onion greens, for garnish
- 6 servings of Rice
Instructions
- Cut your steak into ¼“ strips.
- In a bowl or a ziplock bag coat the steak with cornstarch.
- Brown the steak in the peanut oil, but don’t cook through.
- Add the minced garlic, soy sauce, water, brown sugar, a few shakes of sesame oil, onions and carrots to the slow cooker and stir.
- Add the browned flank steak and stir again until coated with the sauce.
- Cook for high for 2-3 hours or on low 4-5 hours until cooked throughout and tender.
- Serve over rice and garnish with green onions.
