Crock Pot Mongolian Beef

Ingredients
  

  • 1½-2 pounds of Flank Steak or Flat Iron Steak
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons Peanut Oil
  • 2-4 cloves minced Garlic
  • 1 bunch of green onions sliced, whites & greens separated
  • 1 cup Soy Sauce
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 cup grated Carrots
  • Sesame Oil
  • onion greens for garnish
  • 6 servings of Rice

Instructions
 

  • Cut your steak into ¼“ strips.
  • In a bowl or a ziplock bag coat the steak with cornstarch.
  • Brown the steak in the peanut oil, but don’t cook through.
  • Add the minced garlic, soy sauce, water, brown sugar, a few shakes of sesame oil, onions and carrots to the slow cooker and stir.
  • Add the browned flank steak and stir again until coated with the sauce.
  • Cook for high for 2-3 hours or on low 4-5 hours until cooked throughout and tender.
  • Serve over rice and garnish with green onions.
