Simple Iced Tea

Simple Iced Tea

There are a lot of ways to make iced tea. I find this to be the easiest and quickest way.

Simple Iced Tea

Prep Time 20 minutes
Total Time 20 minutes
Servings 10

Ingredients

  • Water
  • 5 Tea Bags
  • Sugar or Sweetener to taste
  • Optionally you add some fresh fruit like lemon slices or raspberries.

Instructions

  • Bring a kettle of water to boil.
  • Place the tea bags and sweetener in a gallon pitcher (we like to use a Rubbermaid gallon pitcher because it can handle the boiling water)
  • We like to use 4 regular black tea bags and 1 flavored herbal tea such as raspberry or apple/cinnamon
  • We use two sweetener packets to a gallon because we like it to be just subtly sweet. You can use more or less.
  • When the water comes to a boil, pour it over the tea bags in the pitcher.
  • Let the tea steep for 10-20 minutes.
  • Remove the tea bags (I like to give them a squeeze to get all of the flavor out!)
  • Add a large number of ice cubes to the pitcher, and then fill the rest of the way with cold water and stir.
