Pig Wings
Jump to recipe
This is one of our favorite camping dishes, and I think it definitely tastes best when cooked over an open fire. We also like to make it over the fire pit at our home. They are very simple to make, but they do take some time for marinating. You can make your own wing sauce from scratch, or you can just buy a good bottle of wing sauce at the store.

Ingredients
- Pork Shoulder Steaks (figure ½ to 1 steak per person, depending on what else your serving with it)
- Buffalo Wing Sauce
- 1 cup Franks Red Hot Sauce
- 1 cup melted butter
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- De-bone the pork steak, and cut each steak into 3-4 pieces. You can follow the seams naturally in the meat for much of this.
- Marinate in the wing sauce overnight or over several days if you can.
- Grill the meat, preferably over an open fire, until they are done.
- Pork shoulder steak will actually get more tender the longer you cook it, as long as you don’t burn it so make sure it’s not too close to the fire.
- Coals are better for cooking than open flames.
