Hummus is staple in the Middle East. Made from cooked chickpeas or garbanzo beans, hummus is a savory dip that is served with pita bread but is also delicious on crackers or fresh veggies.
Tahini (sesame seed paste) is a traditional ingredient, but if you have trouble finding that you can dry roast some sesame or sunflower seeds in a skillet and then process them with some olive oil in a food processor.
