Ingredients

  • 2 Sticks butter
  • 6 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 Tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 Tbsp Olive Oil

Instructions

  • Melt the butter in a small sauce pan over low heat.
  • Add the minced garlic and simmer the garlic in the butter for 10-15 minutes
  • Wisk in the Italian seasoning, and add the olive oil (adds some Italian flavor and helps to keep the butter more spreadable).
  • Let it cool slowly on the counter. Stir every 15-20 minutes as it firms up but is still soft to be sure the garlic and seasoning is evenly distributed.
  • Store in the refrigerator.
  • To make garlic bread, spread the garlic butter on slices of French bread, Italian bread, or even old hot dog or hamburger buns. Place in a 375 degrees F oven for 10-12 minutes. Or, brown in a skillet on the stove top.
  • This can also be used as a compound butter on steaks.
