Garlic Butter
Jump to recipe
This simple condiment makes the best garlic bread. You can also use this as a compound butter to garnish a steak for an extra touch of class and flavor.
Ingredients
- 2 Sticks butter
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 Tbsp Italian seasoning
- 2 Tbsp Olive Oil
Instructions
- Melt the butter in a small sauce pan over low heat.
- Add the minced garlic and simmer the garlic in the butter for 10-15 minutes
- Wisk in the Italian seasoning, and add the olive oil (adds some Italian flavor and helps to keep the butter more spreadable).
- Let it cool slowly on the counter. Stir every 15-20 minutes as it firms up but is still soft to be sure the garlic and seasoning is evenly distributed.
- Store in the refrigerator.
- To make garlic bread, spread the garlic butter on slices of French bread, Italian bread, or even old hot dog or hamburger buns. Place in a 375 degrees F oven for 10-12 minutes. Or, brown in a skillet on the stove top.
- This can also be used as a compound butter on steaks.
