You can buy these from the store, or, you can make them at home. It can be done in a convection oven, but it is easier in a food dehydrator. Also, by making them at home you can choose your own flavor combinations.
These snacks are both delicious and healthy. They work good for us since we already have a lot of applesauce in the canning room. They are great snacks for the kids, or work great as a light and healthy snack while camping or hiking.
Store these in an air tight container. They will keep for a month at room temperature or up to 6 months in the fridge.

Strawberry and Blueberry Fruit Rolls
Ingredients
- Applesauce
- Fresh or frozen fruit such as strawberries, blueberries or raspberries, or
- Flavored gelatin
- Optional – coconut or chopped nuts
- Optional – honey for added sweetness
Instructions
- Wipe the silicone trays for your dehydrator with a light coat of oil, or if using your convection oven place parchment paper on a sheet pan and spray with non-stick spray
- Mix the applesauce with the fresh fruit or fruit gelatin in a blender
- Spread the fruit on the tray evenly, about 1/4″ thick.
- If you are adding coconut or chopped nuts, sprinkle those over the top after spreading on the tray.
- Set your food dehydrator or oven to 140 degrees, and dry for 5-8 hours until the fruit is dry and not tacky.
- Cut into strips and roll up while still warm.
- Place into the fridge to set them, you can tie them with twine if you like.
