Crostini
Jump to recipe
Crostini (Italian for little crusts) are great with antipasto, with dips and are essential for bruschetta. Baguettes are the preferred bread, but they can be made with Italian bread, French bread, focaccia, or any elongated loaf – its a great way to use bread that has gone stale.
Ingredients
- 1 baguette loaf, or any other long loaf of bread, cut on the bias.
- Olive oil
- Kosher salt
- Basil, or Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
- Slice the baguette or bread on the bias (diagonally) 1/4-1/2 inch thick.
- Lay the slices on a baking sheet.
- Pour a half cup of oil into a bowl, and using a basting brush spread some oil on both sides of each slice.
- Sprinkle lightly with some salt (not too much).
- Bake at 400 for 10 minutes.
- After baking, sprinkle them with some basil or Italian seasoning.
- Serve with dips, on an antipasto platter, or use to make bruschetta.
