This is actually several recipes together, because the one shopping list will make them all. This is typically a project for us on the Saturday before Christmas, so we can share them with our neighbors before they have company over. All of our kids have a favorite, so we make them all every year.
Melt 1.5# of the chocolate almond bark and the 12 oz package of chocolate chips.
You can melt a 1/2 piece of canning wax and stir it into the almond bark.
Start with 1.5# of the peanuts and stir through – add more peanuts if the mix seems soupy.
Drop by the spoonful onto wax paper and allow to cool.
This will make 70-90 peanut clusters (depending on your spoon size)
Peanut Butter Ritz Crackers
Using 2 tubes of Ritz Crackers, spread 1 cracker with peanut butter and then place another cracker on top.
Melt 1.5# of the chocolate almond bark (+wax if you’d like)
Using a fork, dip the crackers into the melted almond bark and then place on wax paper to cool. You can then sprinkle them with Christmas green and red sprinkles if you’d like.
This will make 25-30 chocolate peanut butter crackers, depending on how many of the crackers are broken.
Make more peanut clusters with any remaining chocolate almond bark in the bowl.
Repeat with 1# of white almond bark and another 2 tubes of Ritz crackers.
This will make ~25-30 white peanut butter crackers.
Make candy covered pretzels with any remaining white almond bark.
Bugle Ice Cream Cones
Go through your bag of bugles, and select the bugles that have a big enough “mouth” to hold an M&M candy.
Melt 1# of white almond bark.
Dip the open ends of the Bugles into the almond bark, insert an M&M candy into the mouth of each, and then place on wax paper to cool.
This will typically make 100-120 bugle cones, depending on how many bugles are usable.
Make Candy Covered Pretzels with the rest of the white almond bark.
Candy Covered Pretzels
Use the remaining white almond bark after making peanut butter crackers or Bugle ice cream cones.
Using a fork, dip the pretzels into the white almond bark and then place on wax paper to cool.
While still warm, sprinkle with red and/or green candy sprinkles.
This will make about 125 candy covered pretzels.
Turtle Candies
Preheat your oven to 300 degrees F.
Cover a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Place pretzels on the paper and put a Rolo candy on top of each pretzel.
Bake in the oven until the Rolo is soft, but you don’t want it melted, about 5 minutes
Remove from the oven, and promptly place a pecan half on each Rolo, pressing down to squish it.
