This is a favorite dish of mine from childhood. Made with potatoes and cabbage it is a type of an old Dutch dish called stamppot which is generally potatoes mashed with vegetables. This is traditionally served with mettwurst or some other smoked sausage, but my mom always made it with pork shoulder steak and so I prefer it served that way. Don’t forget to have vinegar on the table when serving – this is an essential ingredient for the right flavor.

This is the first of many Dutch dishes I plan to add in the future.
