Apple Pie Ingredients

As American as . . . Apple Pie! This is often one of the first thing people will think of when they consider comfort foods. I like to make this with canned pie filling, which we can for ourselves but you can also use canned pie filling from the store. This version requires just a bottom crust and you make a delicious crumble crust for the top.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 quart or one large can of Apple Pie Filling
  • 1 bottom pie crust home made or store bought.
  • 1/2 cup ground pecans
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 stick of butter 1/2 cup cut into small pieces

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Pour the apple pie filling into the crust bottom.
  • Add the pecan pieces to to a food processor or blender, and pulse to chop into small, uniform sized pieces.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients and process through the pecans.
  • Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the top of the pie.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes until the crust is browned.
