Oatmeal

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats.
  • 1 cup of milk and/or water
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Optional add-ins
  • Dairy: Butter milk or cream, yogurt
  • Granola for some crunch
  • Sweeteners: Brown Sugar Maple Syrup, Honey, chocolate chips
  • Seasonings: Cinnamon cocoa, nutmeg, pumpkin pie spice
  • Fresh Fruit: Sliced banana sliced strawberry, chunked apple, blueberries, etc
  • Dried Fruit: Raisins cranberries, dates, coconut, etc
  • Nuts: Sliced almonds walnut or pecan pieces, peanut butter

Instructions
 

  • Combine the oats with the milk and/or water.
  • Add the pinch of salt.
  • Microwave on high for 2-4 minutes, depending on how thick you would like it.
  • Add any of the optional ingredients you would like.
  • For the stove top, bring your water to boiling and your milk to nearly boiling. Reduce the heat and add your oats. Cook, stirring frequently for about 5 minutes until you get the consistency that you want.
