Gravy from Broth

Ingredients
  

  • ¼ cup butter
  • ¼ cup flour
  • 2 cups of broth stock, or bouillon
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1-2 tsp Kitchen Bouquet enough to get your desired color
  • Optional for more flavor depth: 1 tsp of vinegar and 1 Tbsp of tomato paste.

Instructions
 

  • Melt the butter in a skillet and then blend in the flour using a whisk. Stir steadily until the roux turns to a peanut butter color.
  • Whisk in the broth until smooth and bring to a simmer to thicken.
  • Whisk in the remaining ingredients.
  • Taste and adjust for salt and pepper.
