Dutch Oven Pizza

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 recipe of Pizza Dough or a box of pizza dough mix
  • 1 jar pizza sauce – start with half and then use more if needed
  • ½ lb mozzarella cheese
  • ½ lb pepperoni and/or Italian sausage browned
  • Your choice of veggies – peppers onions, mushrooms, olives, etc
  • Dutch oven liner

Instructions
 

  • Start 30 briquettes for a 12 inch oven
  • Prepare the pizza dough per mix directions and roll out into a round shape
  • Spread the dough across the center of the liner.
  • Using the liner, set the pizza down into the Dutch oven. Roll up the edges of the dough as needed to fit the bottom of the Dutch oven.
  • Put the lid on the Dutch oven, and then place 8 briquettes under and 22 briquettes on top of the Dutch Oven. Bake for 15 minutes.
  • Remove the lid and carefully top the pizza crust with sauce, then meat, then ½ the cheese, the veggies, and the other half of the cheese.
  • Bake for another 15 minutes, then check if the cheese and crust are the way you like them. Replace the lid and cook another 5-10 minutes if you would like them more done.
