Dutch Oven Fruit Cobbler

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup quick oatmeal
  • ½ cup white sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup softened butter
  • 1 can of fruit pie filling or three cups of fresh fruit sprinkled with sugar to create some juice.

Instructions
 

  • Start 24 charcoal briquets, or pull your coals from a fire.
  • Mix the flour, sugars, and oats; then cut in and stir through the butter
  • Place a liner in your Dutch oven.
  • Spread 2/3 of the oats mixture on the bottom
  • Spread on the fruit filling and then the rest of the oats mix over the top.
  • Place 6 coals under and 18 coals on the lid and bake for 45 minutes; rotate the lid a 1/4 turn and the oven a 1/4 turn in the opposite direction every 10 minutes.
